Making Every Home Count: Supporting the Dravet Syndrome Foundation in Honor of Anna
At McKelvey Homes, we believe that building homes is about more than bricks and mortar — it's about building community, supporting one another, and standing behind causes that matter deeply to our team.
That’s why, we are proud to support the Dravet Syndrome Foundation in honor of Anna, the great niece of our President, Jim Brennan. From now through September 30th, McKelvey Homes will donate $1,898 for every home sold to help fund vital research and support services for families affected by this rare disease.
What is Dravet Syndrome?
Dravet Syndrome, also known as Severe Myoclonic Epilepsy of Infancy (SMEI), is a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy that begins in infancy. It is resistant to most treatments and brings lifelong challenges — frequent and prolonged seizures, developmental delays, and a host of medical complications.

Why This Cause Matters to Us
Jim’s great niece Anna, now 4 years old, lives with Dravet Syndrome. Despite the daily challenges she faces, Anna is a bright light — full of joy and strength. She attends preschool for short periods and receives daily therapies including speech, physical, occupational, and even equestrian therapy. Her resilience is a constant source of inspiration, and her journey is a powerful reminder of why continued research and support are so essential. This year, there has been exciting progress in treatment research, giving families like Anna’s renewed hope for better outcomes and improved quality of life. These breakthroughs wouldn’t be possible without the support of organizations like the Dravet Syndrome Foundation and those who contribute to their mission.
Three years ago, the Brennan family hosted the first-ever Dance for Dravet, a fundraiser that has now raised over $600,000 toward finding a cure and supporting families like Anna’s. Your support — whether by buying a home, sharing our mission, or learning more about this cause — helps carry this momentum forward.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Every home we sell between now and September 30th means another $1,898 donated directly to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation. It’s our way of honoring Anna and helping fund hope for all families affected by Dravet.
Thank you for being part of our mission and helping make every home — and every dollar — count.
