McKelvey Homes 4th Quarter Philanthropy - ACA Affordable Housing Fund

October 9, 2025

At McKelvey Homes, we believe a house is more than walls and a roof - it’s the foundation of stability, growth, and community. This quarter, we’re proud to deepen that mission by supporting the ACA Affordable Housing Fund, an initiative dedicated to bringing safe, affordable homes to families across the St. Louis region, through the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

From now until December 31st, McKelvey Homes will donate $1,898 for every home sold to the ACA Affordable Housing Fund. Together, we’re helping ensure that more families have access to a place they can truly call home - especially as we enter this season of warmth, gratitude, and togetherness.

Why Affordable Housing Matters

Affordable housing means that a family spends less than 30% of their income on rent or a mortgage. When that number rises above 30%, families are considered “housing burdened” a struggle that thousands in our region face every day.

The need is urgent:

  • The City of St. Louis faces a shortage of 35,000 affordable rental units for low-income families.

  • Nearly 7 out of 10 households earning under $37,500 are considered housing burdened.

  • In nearby St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren Counties, over 1,100 families experience homelessness each year.

These aren’t just numbers, they’re our neighbors. That’s why the ACA Affordable Housing Fund is working to create lasting solutions, one home at a time.

About the ACA Affordable Housing Fund

Established in 2024 as one of Archbishop Rozanski’s top priorities, the ACA Affordable Housing Fund provides grants to Catholic housing agencies that go beyond temporary shelter - adding to the housing stock and creating sustainable homes.

So far, the fund has awarded $2.2 million in grants, helping to build and renovate over 140 housing units across the region. Each project does more than provide a roof - it empowers families through education, stability, and a renewed sense of dignity.

Some recent grant highlights include:

  • Assisi House – Renovated a 10-bedroom group home for men, now fully occupied.

  • Peter & Paul Community Services – Renovated 35 apartments for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

  • Room at the Inn – Expanded capacity to house 35 guests nightly, with new amenities like a teaching kitchen and medical isolation room.

  • St. Joseph Housing Initiative – Renovating homes that graduates of their home readiness program can purchase, turning renters into homeowners.

  • Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service – Expanded staff to serve over 1,100 people in just three months, reducing the number of families turned away.

These initiatives reflect the Fund’s mission to provide safe, permanent housing and brighter futures for those most in need.

Home for the Holidays

As we head into the holiday season, we’re reminded that there’s no place like home. A home means warmth, security, and a place to gather with loved ones - and everyone deserves that feeling.

Our hope is that through this partnership, more families across the St.Louis region will be able to celebrate the holidays under their own roof, surrounded by loved ones, comfort, stability, and joy.

This 4th quarter, every home we sell helps another family find theirs.
Because everyone deserves to be home for the holidays.

Together, we’re not just building homes - we’re building hope.
